Sauder Gives Back (SGB) connects the MBA cohort with the Vancouver community through accessible and meaningful opportunities. We create fun ways for classmates to engage in causes they care about, including social equity, poverty alleviation, and mental well being, while fostering a strong sense of connection within the cohort.
Our initiatives are designed to make impact feel collaborative and approachable, meeting students where they are. By engaging locally and acting together, SGB helps shape thoughtful future business leaders who are mindful of the social impact of their decisions and committed to leading with empathy, responsibility, and community at the center.
Co-President: Paarika Sharma
Rika Sharma grew up moving around India because of her dad’s job, so she got used to new cities, new routines, and making a home pretty quickly wherever she landed. She now spends a lot of time exploring Vancouver between classes and club chaos. Rika has experience across entrepreneurship, startups, and corporate roles, and she’s drawn to community work that’s practical and easy for busy students to show up for. With Sauder Gives Back, she focuses on creating low-pressure ways for students to get involved locally. When she’s off-duty, you’ll usually find her taking photos, reading, baking, or trying to convince people to play board games.
Co-President:
Sybelle Etienne
Sybelle brings a deep commitment to community impact shaped by her upbringing in Haiti and her professional experience working with nonprofit organizations. From a young age, volunteering and giving back were embedded in her everyday life, grounding her belief that meaningful change starts locally and is sustained through care and consistency. At Sauder Gives Back, she is excited to create opportunities for students to engage with the Vancouver community in thoughtful and practical ways. Outside of school, Sybelle’s interests span fashion, reading, and dance, spaces where creativity, culture, and self expression intersect with purpose.
