The Alumni Representative Club at UBC Sauder School of Business connects current MBA students with Sauder and UBC alumni through practical, relationship-driven engagement. The club creates regular touchpoints for students to learn from diverse alumni career paths and professional experiences, while offering alumni meaningful ways to stay involved.

Working closely with the Business Career Centre and partner student clubs, the team organizes panels, workshops, and informal networking events both on and off campus. The club’s focus is to strengthen long-term community ties and enhance the student and alumni experience within Sauder’s broader network.

Co-President: Alejandro Gaitán Rueda

I’m Alejandro, but most people call me Alejo or Ale. I enjoy building meaningful connections and bringing people together through shared experiences and honest conversations. As Co-President of the Alumni Representative Club, I help create opportunities for students and alumni to connect in ways that feel genuine and lasting.

During my MBA, I’ve focused on developing business initiatives that create positive social impact and turn ideas into action. Years of volunteering and experience across public and private sector projects shaped my interest in collaboration, execution, and long-term value creation. I also enjoy being an ambassador for my home country, Colombia, by sharing its positive stories and realities, and encouraging others to experience it firsthand. Outside of school, you’ll often find me swimming, traveling, dancing, and trying new cuisines.
