Whether you are a manager or a leader working in any line of business, public speaking, in their various forms, is the face of your hard work, dedication, and ideas. One of the most important steps in evolving one’s public speaking skills is developing the comfort necessary to stand in front of an audience, be they friends or colleagues, and speak at length. To ensure that Sauder MBA Graduates possess these necessary skills, the Sauder Speaks Club provides a forum for students to practice and perfect the art of speaking. Sauder Speaks works with Club members to assist in finding that level of comfort.
Throughout the year the Club gathers its members and challenges them with various formats to achieve this goal; these formats are fluid and dynamic and include impromptu speaking, for and against speeches and random object selling etc.
In addition to meetings, the Club circulates examples of exemplary presentations via video. It also provides video recording facilities for its members, allowing each to watch themselves in action. The Club also encourages members to attend speaker events to help them watch and learn from the pros.
