Natural Resources Club

The Club officially inaugurated on January 4, 2010 was first incepted by Sauder MBA Class of 2011 students who were exploring possible career directions in the oil & gas and mining sectors. The Club is first of its kind in that if focuses on specific industries, unlike most of the other Sauder MBA clubs dedicated to a functional area.

The oil & gas and mining industries have long been the backbones of the Canadian economy. Natural Resources Club aims to help Sauder MBA candidates identify opportunities to make significant contributions to the dynamic industries as future business leaders through diverse activities designed to gain insights into these dynamic sectors, build a solid professional network with industry professionals, and increase the exposure and visibility of the club members to the desired industries. The activities include speaker events, company visits, participation in related conferences and industry events, networking with alumni in oil & gas and mining, hosting of potential employer information session, and e-newsletter publications.

The Club also has the Board of Advisors comprised of prominent figures active in the oil & gas and mining industries and the Club Advisors provide guidance and mentoring for the Club’s endeavor to extend its reach to the entire Canada and strength the network with business executives and professionals in the industries of interest.
