Our Mission
Our Club Mission is to serve as a gateway to the hi-tech business community and educate the club members about the latest technology trends and business news. While out of the workforce during the 15-month MBA program, the club will ensure that the members stay connected with the rapidly changing technology industries.
Our Club Mandate is to create as many opportunities as possible for the club members to meet with the hi-tech community through guest speaking events and attending or volunteering for industry events.

Technology Management Club Presents:
Mr Rian Gauvreau will speak to the students of the Sauder School of Business full-time MBA class during the first half of
the BAIT 513 class on managing e- business. As founder of Themis Solutions, Mr. Gauvreau launched a product called Clio which is a web-based, secure, easy to use suite of practice management tools targeted to the needs of small businesses and sole practitioners which allows the owner to focus on their practice and not on managing IT. Clio includes a full suite of practice management tools targeted specifically at the administrative needs of sole practitioners and small firms. Clio is a single resource that eliminates the need for multiple specialized applications by incorporating the principal talents of each. Web-based, secure, and easy-to-use, Clio seeks to overcome many of the technical hurdles offered by conventional practice management solutions.

September 15, 2009: Pascal Spothelfer, President of BCTIA, presented a guest lecture to MBA students. The presentation was insightful, and presented the students a window into the various opportunities BC's technology industry has to offer MBA students. One of the key areas identified in Mr. Spothelfer's presentation was the challenge in finding product managers.
April 9, 2009: A group of 5 technology club members visited PMC-Sierra. The agenda was:
- A quick tour of the PMC Sierra facility in Burnaby. The club members were excited to see a clean-room for the first time!
- A PMC-Sierra business case postmortem - The PMC-Sierra management walked us through a business case and showed us practical applications of MBA knowledge.
- Discussion and questions
PMC-Sierra NASDAQ: PMCS is a fabless semiconductor company which develops and sells devices into the communications, storage, printing, and embedded computing marketplaces (Source: Wikipedia).
April 7, 2009: Three club members attended IMPACT, an event organized by BCTIA (www.bctia.org). The event helped the members listen to insightful lectures from top executives from Absolute Software and Sierra Wireless, and network with the local business community.
